Faces Are Eaten In Terrifying New Alien: Covenant Clip

Demian Bichir needs to be a little more careful in this new Alien: Covenant clip. The terrifying footage shows Bichir's character nearly getting his face eaten off by an alien after making the not so smart decision to walk around on an unfamiliar planet with no helmet.

The clip shows a Facehugger wandering through a cave, scuttling away as Bichir's Lope and his partner try to shoot at it. The creature begins to attack, eventually latching onto Lope's face. Although his partner pulls it off, that flesh burning probably isn't going to spell anything good for Lope's future– and neither is the "oh shoot" his partner utters at the end of the clip.

Alien: Covenant follows the crew of a ship on their way to colonize a distant planet who wake up long before they are supposed to. They decide to stop on a nearby, apparently habitable planet where, predictably, things don't exactly go as planned. The film, directed by Ridley Scott based on a script from John Logan and Dante Harper, also stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, and Amy Seimetz.

Alien: Covenant will hit theaters on May 19; for now, see what the critics are saying about the film.
