Blade Runner 2049 Trailer Coming Monday
The new trailer for Blade Runner 2049 is coming sooner than we previously thought. A teaser for the film revealed that the full trailer is coming Monday, weeks ahead of its initially announced May 19 debut. The original film's director Ridley Scott previously revealed that the trailer would air before the upcoming Alien: Covenant, but it looks like it will appear online beforehand.
Here is the full synopsis for the film (via Collider): Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
While the teaser doesn't reveal much, it does give fans a glimpse of the excitement they can look forward to when the full trailer premieres on Monday. "There is an order to things," Robin Wright's character says in the teaser, which also intercuts shots of the film's action featuring both Gosling and Ford. "That's what we do here. We keep order."
Denis Villeneuve (Arrival) steps behind the camera for the upcoming sequel, which is based on a script from the original film's Hampton Fancher and Murder on the Orient Express' Michael Green. Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Mackenzie Davis, Jared Leto, Edward James Olmos, Carla Juri, and Barkhad Abdi also star.
Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters on Oct. 6, 2017. While we wait, watch the teaser above and read up on all of the details you may have missed in the film's teaser trailer.
