Everything That Just Changed After The Minecraft 2.30 Update

Even though "Minecraft" is well over a decade old, the game still has tons of people still playing, and the team at Mojang Studios is still reliably delivering updates and fresh content for the wildly popular sandbox and survival title. The most recent improvement to the game — titled 2.30 on the PlayStation edition of the game with the master reference number of 1.17.32 (Bedrock) on the official "Minecraft" support forums — just arrived on Sept. 30, 2021.

"Minecraft" fans shouldn't expect anything quite as drastic as the "Cliffs & Caves" update, which has been arriving in parts over 2021. The first portion of that update launched this summer and introduced new blocks like copper and crystals, fun items like the spyglass and a lightning rod, in addition to a friendly axolotl and some shockingly aggressive goats. The second half of that significant update is expected to arrive later this year, although the "Minecraft" team has not set a definite launch date for that release.

Instead, the latest update for "Minecraft" is focused on the sort of stability fixes and platform-specific improvements that keep a game playable a decade after release.

The Minecraft 2.30 update resolved several crashes and loading errors

Since most of the modifications included in the 2.30 update for "Minecraft" take aim at some pretty serious bugs that have likely only affected a small portion of players, many fans might not even notice the changes. However, anyone who has been experiencing stability issues during their sessions might want to take a look at the official fix list on the "Minecraft" website to see what has been patched.

The "Minecraft" team has resolved several crashes occurring both in-game and while players peruse the Marketplace sidebar. Several specific errors were fixed as well, including an issue with the Looting enchantment failing to function after slaying a mob with a projectile, a light block glitch that sent players to the Overworld, and connectivity issues that kept content from loading in properly.

In addition, two update and console-specific bugs have been resolved. It seems that "Caves & Cliffs" had introduced an error that was deleting chunks when the player reentered an old world, which has now been resolved. Finally, Nintendo Switch players may have encountered an error message that read, "Couldn't pack your world file for upload." Anyone who has seen this problem affect their game can rest easy, as everything should upload correctly now.
