The Star Wars: Visions Moment That Had Fans' Jaws Dropping To The Floor

"Star Wars" encompasses a whole galaxy of stories. From epic battles between Jedi and Sith to people just trying to become one with nature, there's no shortage of adventures going on. While the movies tend to focus on the latest trials and tribulations of the Skywalker family, a new series on Disney+ utilizes a much larger scope to tell different kinds of stories in an entirely new medium for the franchise.

"Star Wars: Visions" just came out with its first season consisting of nine episodes from seven different anime studios. Each episode tells a self-contained story set within the "Star Wars" universe, allowing for characters new and old to intermingle with one another. As it turns out, "Star Wars" and anime is a match made in heaven, and there are plenty of standout moments to leave you in awe.

The Akira Kurosawa-inspired opening episode makes excellent use of a lightsaber umbrella. The episode "Tatooine Rhapsody" finally shows us what kind of music they listen to in a galaxy far, far away. However, in particular, there's one moment from the episode "The Ninth Jedi" that fans can't stop talking about on social media.

The Sith reveal shocked audiences

It may be hard to rank "Star Wars: Visions" for some, but Redditor u/Thexanl sums up a lot of people's opinions nicely by writing, "Ninth Jedi is the best one for me, holy s*** what an amazing episode." There's a lot to enjoy with this story, which kicks off with a group of Force users arriving at a temple to receive their lightsabers in a world where those weapons have been extinct for years. It's up to Kara, whose sabersmith father ends up getting captured due to his defiance, to deliver the weapons. But when she arrives at the temple with the lightsabers, the six remaining users pick them up, and they all turn red.

"Star Wars" fans know the color of a lightsaber is dependent on the energy of the holder. Light side users end up with sabers that are typically green or blue, while Sith receive red. Up until this point in the episode, viewers assume everyone invited to the temple is a good guy. It's only after the big reveal that we learn how the Sith attacked the masterless Jedi who received the invitation and took their place so that they may receive the items.

It's an incredible twist, and "Star Wars" fans can't stop talking about it. Another user in the Reddit thread writes, "When Kara's dad said that they would attune to their user, I was expecting the big reveal to be one of them turning red. I wasn't ready for six of them." u/EXTRA-THOT-SAUCE wrote how the collective reaction was all thanks to the fact, "The characters were written so well that I actually didn't expect any of them to be Sith." With this moment now in the books, Season 2 of "Star Wars: Visions" has a lot to live up to.
