How Long Does It Take To Beat Kena: Bridge Of Spirits?

Ember Lab's "Kena: Bridge of Spirits" follows titular character Kena on a Disney-Studio Ghibli-like journey to put sleepless spirits to rest. She and her Rot companions (fuzzy spirit friends that offer her help with puzzles and combat) tackle spiritual and environmental conflicts in this nature-focused title.

Many critics described "Kena: Bridge of Spirits" as a "fairly linear action-adventure" without overly extensive campaigns or sprawling maps. However, playtimes can differ depending on the player. PC Gamer pointed to "potentially tricky fights" as a possible time sink, but most critics didn't mention playtime as being bothersome or too drawn-out.

Many fans love indie games, like "12 Minutes," because they often take less time to complete than full-length games developed by titan AAA studios. Thankfully, for those worried about a huge time commitment with "Kena: Bridge of Spirits," it won't take too long to complete. Tom's Guide even mentioned how the playtime fits the title in terms of story and combat satisfaction. "Just as your interest begins to wane, things start to wrap up," the reviewer wrote.

Here's exactly how long it takes to beat "Kena: Bridge of Spirits" based on reviewers' experiences.

Most report a playtime between 8 to 10 hours

Most reviewers reported taking between 8 and 10 hours to finish the game at a non-completionist level. That means enjoying a moderate amount of exploration but not collecting every item and trophy possible — just enough to beat the bosses and roll the credits. These estimates factor in time boss battle blunders, too.

On the longer end of the spectrum, GameSpot's reviewer took around a 12 hours to finish the game and estimated it would take 15 hours for a completionist run. "Kena: Bridge of Spirits" has plenty of collectibles, like hats for the player's Rot friends, that can keep completionists occupied for a few extra hours. Higher difficulty levels and trophy hunting can tack on hours, too.

"Kena: Bridge of Spirits" is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on September 21, 2021. The title is a timed release and will hopefully expand to other platforms in the future.
