Luke Skywalker's Necklace In The Last Jedi Might Be Important
Contains potential spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Nobody wears an accessory in the Star Wars universe for no reason. Well, Padme Amidala might.
According to rumors reported by the reliable folks at Making Star Wars, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will sport a unique necklace in The Last Jedi, and it could be more powerful than anything you've ever seen at the mall.
According to the site, Luke wears a chain with a pendant that's attached to a red crystal. When you consider that his wardrobe during the final scene of The Force Awakens is 15 shades of gray, a red crystal seems like a bold choice.
But if you know Star Wars lore or you paid attention during the beginning of Rogue One, you know that crystals are extremely significant in the Star Wars universe. Kyber crystals are the power source for lightsabers and Death Stars, and Jyn Erso's mom gave her one when the Rebel hero was a kid.
The fact that Luke's crystal is reportedly red would be a big deal. Darth Vader's lightsaber was red, which means Luke could be holding onto his dad's last crystal. That would certainly be something Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) would want to get his hands on, since he's the galaxy's foremost collector of Vader memorabilia.
We probably won't know anything for sure until The Last Jedi is released on Dec. 15. But the first teaser trailer hints that Luke might be warming up to the dark side of the Force. Could it be his jewelry?
