Syfy Renews The Magicians For Season 3

The adventures of Fillory will continue for another season on Syfy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has renewed The Magicians for a third season just a week before the season 2 finale.

Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Arjun Gupta, Hale Appleman, Summer Bishil, and Olivia Taylor Dudley star in the series, which follows a group of 20-somethings discovering their magical powers in the mystical land of Fillory. The series is based on the best selling novels from Lev Grossman.

The Magicians airs Wednesdays on Syfy, with the second season set to conclude on April 19. The show's ratings have improved during its run, and it has been up 15 percent year-to-year in the 18-49 demo and six percent overall in season 2. It's also done fairly well with critics, with a 70 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its first season and 88 percent for its second.

The 13-episode third season is expected to premiere at some point in 2018. The first and second seasons both premiered in January, so it will likely come at a similar point early in the year.
