Orange Is The New Black Season 5 Teaser Reveals If Daya Shoots

Contains spoilers for the season 4 finale of Orange is the New BlackA gun is fired in the first minute of the fifth season of Orange Is the New Black.

A new teaser for the Netflix show gives a glimpse of what happened after that epic season 4 cliffhanger and, although we still don't know who gets shot, the footage does end with the ominous sound of a gun shot ringing through the air.

Season 4 ended with Daya (Dascha Polanco) holding a gun on CO Humphrey (Michael Torpey) as the other ladies of Litchfield gathered around, with many calling for her to shoot him and get revenge for the death of Poussey (Samira Wiley). Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee, teased to E! that the entirety of season 5 will take place over just three days, hinting that the aftermath of whatever happens with that gun will send some pretty big shockwaves throughout the prison.

The teaser starts with Daya still holding the gun on Humphrey, seemingly unsure of what she wants to do. It then shows Alex (Laura Prepon) and Piper (Taylor Schilling) walking towards the riot while talking about how they want to avoid trouble, which is never an easy thing to do at Litchfield.

Piper (in typical Piper fashion) asks if what she's seeing is a real riot and if that's a step forwards or backwards for equality. Alex (in typical Alex fashion) says she doesn't care, and pulls Piper away from the fray. The teaser then goes back to Daya, who tells the screaming women around her to be quiet before cursing. The screen fades to black as we hear a shot fired.

The new season of Orange Is the New Black hit Netflix on June 9, so we still have to wait quite a while to find out what happens. While we wait, find out what the show gets wrong about prison.
