The X-Files Cast To Voice Cold Cases Series For Audible
The truth might still be out there, you just won't be able to see it.
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully for a new Audible Originals series called The X-Files: Cold Cases.
Based on the graphic novels by Joe Harris, the series picks up after the events of 2008's X-Files: I Want to Believe. According to a press release, the new stories have just as many aliens and conspiracy theory as the original FOX series.
Here's the official synopsis: "A database breach at FBI headquarters allows an unknown group to access and capitalize on those investigations left unsolved—dubbed cold cases—by the secret department once known as The X-Files. As friends and foes of the agency long thought gone begin to inexplicably reappear, former agents Mulder and Scully come out of anonymity to face a growing conspiracy that involves not only their former department but the U.S. government and forces not of this world."
Other series regulars will return, including Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner; William B. Davis as the Cigarette Smoking Man; and Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood as the Lone Gunmen. Cold Cases will also feature a full array of extraterrestrial sounds to make for an authentic X-Files experience.
The original series ran for nine seasons between 1993 and 2002. If you missed it (or the two movies and the FOX revival last year), it follows two very different FBI agents who investigate claims of paranormal crimes. Witty banter and sexual tension also come with the territory.
The series will be released on Audible on July 18, but you can pre-order now. While we wait, check out why Hollywood probably won't make another X-Files movie.
