Rogue One Director Says There Are Easter Eggs Fans Still Haven't Found
Minor spoilers ahead for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
You may think you saw all the hidden details in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but, according to director Gareth Edwards, you've just scratched the surface. In an interview with Radio Times ahead of Rogue One's DVD release, Edwards said that "there are all sorts of little things" that fans may have missed in the films and even gave an example of a very minor Easter egg that we didn't catch.
The reference comes when Jyn and Cassian are walking through Jedha. Fans were distracted in this scene by another pretty big Easter egg, an imperial droid from the Empire Strikes Back on the right of the screen. However, Edwards says there is also an Easter egg on the left– giant space camels that the Stormtroopers are riding. While the aliens are just a small reference, having only popped up as unnamed creatures in the reference book Star Wars: Galactic Atlas, they are an example of one of the "loads" of small inferences that Edwards is now challenging true fans to find.
Rogue One will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on April 4, giving fans lots of re-watching opportunities for Easter egg hunting. In the meantime, read up on some of the major Easter eggs you may not have noticed when you saw the film in theaters.
