Jake Gyllenhaal And Life Director Team Up For New Movie
You've seen all the trailers, and now Daniel Espinosa's sci-fi thriller, Life, is finally here. And if this alien flick is up your alley, then you might be excited to hear what Espinosa has in store next. As it turns out, the director enjoyed working with Jake Gyllenhaal so much that the two are reuniting for another movie. This time, the duo is staying put on planet Earth, but Gyllenhaal might find himself facing a foe even deadlier than extraterrestrials.
According to Variety, Espinosa and Gyllenhaal are teaming up for a new project called The Anarchists vs. ISIS. Based on a Rolling Stone article by Seth Harp, the film will tell the true story of a group of Americans who fly over to Syria and join forces with a Kurdish militia to defeat ISIS. Of course, these aren't your average soldiers. This merry band of volunteers is made up of socialists who plan on starting their own anarchist collective, all while going head-to-head with the Islamic State.
As producer Riva Marker puts it, The Anarchists vs. ISIS is a "story about people who abandon everything that's familiar as a means to connect in the most brutal of circumstances." Currently, the filmmakers are looking for a screenwriter to adapt Seth Harp's article, so it'll still be a while before we get to see Gyllenhaal take on a bunch of terrorists. In the meantime, be sure to check out all the other amazing movies coming out in the near future.
