Timothy Hutton To Recur On Amazon's Jack Ryan Series
Leverage star Timothy Hutton will be the mastermind once again for Amazon's Jack Ryan series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner has signed on for a recurring role on the John Krasinski-starring show.
The eight-episode series, based on the Tom Clancy novels of the same name, will put Krasinski in the title role that has previously been held in films by the likes of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine. The show will follow the up-and-coming CIA analyst as he finds a pattern of terrorist communication that could threaten the whole world. Hutton will play the Deputy Director of Operations.
Hutton won his Oscar in 1980 for Ordinary People. He has since appeared in films like The Ghost Writer, Serious Moonlight, Kinsey, The Killing Room, Taps, A Long Way Home, Secret Window, and Krasinski's directorial debut, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. He recently earned an Emmy nomination for his role on American Crime.
Graham Roland (Almost Human) wrote the pilot for Amazon's Jack Ryan series based on a story from him and Carlton Cuse (Lost). Krasinski will executive produce alongside Cuse, Roland, and Michael Bay, among others. No release date has been for the series set yet. While we wait, see which Jack Ryan actor replacement ruined the character's next movie.
