Power Rangers B-Roll Footage Features Bill Hader's Alpha 5

Anticipation is high for Lionsgate's Power Rangers refresh, but with a millions-deep fandom backing the upcoming flick, things seem to be on the up-and-up—and the recently-released B-roll footage may very well ricochet that into further heights.

The film company rolled out behind-the-scenes film footage featuring the Rangers themselves and Elizabeth Banks getting her villain on as Rita Repulsa. It also shows the very first look at beloved actor Bill Hader in his role as Alpha 5, the Rangers' robotic assistant and guardian. Hader is seen in a motion-capture suit, acting out the popular character's movements, and in the recording booth giving Alpha 5 his signature voice. Though the B-roll footage doesn't include sound, it's safe to assume that given Hader's past work in voice-acting (most notably in Disney Pixar's Academy Award-winning film Inside Out), he'll do a pretty fantastic job.

Also shown in the behind-the-scenes clips are some high-powered action sequences involving Banks going toe-to-toe with the unmasked Rangers and giving Trini (Becky G.) a menacing shakedown, one that's a little less intense when fans can see the harness that holds her hovering in mid-air. Sneak peeks at the cast's training for the film are shown at the video's end.

Here's the official synopsis for the forthcoming film:

"Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world—is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late."

Power Rangers is set to hit theaters on March 24, and stars Bryan Cranston, Naomi Scott, David Denman, Sarah Grey, RJ Cyler, Emily Maddison, Ludi Lin, and Dacre Montgomery alongside Hader, Banks, and Becky G.

With just two weeks left until release, it might be wise to read up on what it really takes to be a mighty morphin' Power Rangers.
