New For Honor PC Patch Fixes Easy AntiCheat Issue

Proper balance is vital to nearly every aspect of your lifeā€”and games are no exception. Today, video game publisher Ubisoft released a mini patch for PC users running into glitches, bugs, and a few serious roadblocks while they were getting their hack-and-slash on in For Honor.

Earlier this morning (February 21), the creatives behind the latest medieval melee title sent out a PC patch to remedy the bumpy gameplay some users were experiencing, most notably in the game's Easy AntiCheat System. Ubisoft knowingly implemented this structure in efforts to ensure fair gameplay amongst all For Honor fans, but things went awry quickly after the title's launch.

Down to a fault in the AntiCheat System, some users could not enter (or, in some cases, even locate) a peer-to-peer online match; instead, they were unintentionally blocked from any matches. Thankfully, however, the hiccup was a small one, and the For Honor team was able to smooth it out quite quickly and restore balance to the game with this patch.

Additional patch updates hit the Steam controller, as many players were reporting that they were being booted from a For Honor match due to the controller's inactivity rather than their own. A few startup and shutdown glitches are resolved as well, along with the inclusion of a system requirements check once the game is booted up.

Check out the full patch notes below:

Easy AntiCheat

  • FIXED: Updated the error messaging for certain Easy AntiCheat notifications to make them more user friendly

  • FIXED: Error that was incorrectly blocking some players from entering the game

Steam Controller users will no longer be kicked as inactive (AFK) when providing controller input

Addressed bugs in the the shutdown process

  • FIXED: game sometimes storing borderless in the options on shutdown

  • FIXED: game still showing in taskbar after pressing x. When clicked you would see a small window without borders that closes shortly after.

Addressed several PC startup/full screen bugs

  • FIXED: game starting in window mode when clicking somewhere else during startup

  • FIXED: game switch display mode twice on startup

  • FIXED: game switching to borderless when ALT+ENTER after previous switch to full screen failed

Fixed the caching of settings on game minimization

  • FIXED: Incorrect window positions being stored in options when game is minimized

A message will now be displayed on BOOT if Intel GPU driver is below min specs

If you've yet to try out For Honor for yourself, we definitely recommend it, as it's one of the games we believe will blow everyone away this year.
