New Featurette Takes You Behind The Scenes Of Loki

It's a brave new world for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As Disney moves into the streaming world, the company has released some of its most experimental superhero adaptations to date. "WandaVision" merged your typical story of love and betrayal within the confines of a sitcom world. "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" explored the political ramifications of super-soldiers, and now, "Loki" is on the horizon to bring his signature brand of mischief into the time stream.

With a release date set for June 9, it won't be long until Marvel fans see their favorite trickster god take to the small screen to get in trouble with the Time Variance Authority. From the several trailers and clips we've seen so far, "Loki" will effectively be Marvel's answer to "Doctor Who," and fans have begun chomping at the bit to see Tom Hiddleston return to his Marvel roots.

In the week leading up to the show's premiere, Marvel's started taking out the big guns and giving us our best look yet at the fantastical series. Marvel Studios has unleashed a new behind-the-scenes featurette showcasing scenes from "Loki" as well as interviews with various cast and crew members. It may only be a minute in length, but for Marvel fans, that's more than enough to continue speculating wildly where this show will take the future of the MCU.

Loki promises plenty of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey shenanigans

In terms of clips from the show itself, the featurette pretty much sticks with what we've seen before, although we do receive some stunning glimpses of the world the Time Variance Authority exists in. However, fans will be just as ecstatic to see Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson yucking it up as they will at seeing some exclusive interviews with those who made this new series a reality. One of the video's highlights comes from Kate Herron, who's a director and executive producer on "Loki." She hypes up the series, saying, "It's this really big story. Sort of a mixture between tones and genres."

Then there's Tom Hiddleston himself. The actor has portrayed Loki for well over a decade at this point, and while writers and directors have changed hands, his presence has remained consistent. He probably understands the character better than anyone else at this point, so it should come as no surprise when he mentions, "Loki is the god of mischief. We have to do mischievous things." It looks like that creed is alive and well, seeing as how Thor's brother seemingly travels to various points in time, including the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the hijacking from D.B. Cooper, to set the timeline right. Knowing Loki, he'll inevitably leave his mark on history in his unique way.

All of the Marvel Disney+ series have been winners at this point, so there's no reason to think "Loki' will be any different. In case the featurette got you jonesing for more Hiddleston mischief, you can take solace in the fact that "Loki" is now only a week away. Sadly, you can't travel through time like him to watch the first episode today.
