The Nintendo Switch Game That Over 47% Of People Are Most Excited For

Which of the games announced during the February 17, 2021 Nintendo Direct are you most excited about? SVG asked 1,400 gamers from all around the world this question and got interesting results. Out of the choices, "Splatoon 3," "Mario Golf: Super Rush," "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" and new Joy Cons, "Star Wars Hunters," and "Other," there was a clear frontrunner that nearly half of people are most hyped for.

With 47% of the vote, it appears that gamers want "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD" and its accompanying Joy Cons to be released. While it might not be easy to understand the entire Zelda timeline, it's easy to figure out why this game is such a hit, even before its highly anticipated July 16, 2021 release. With a mix of nostalgia and updated gameplay, it makes total sense that longtime fans are excited to revisit this title.

No game came close to "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" in terms of how much fans are anticipating it, but there are a few other results worth noting.

Consolation Prize Winners

Most notably, "Star Wars Hunters" raked in 21% of the vote. Obviously, "Star Wars" fans are always going to leap at the chance for a new game. However, it's worth noting that the upcoming title may appeal to others, since it's from the makers of the ever-popular "FarmVille." Bringing up the rear, "Splatoon 3" got 12% of the vote. Since this cute and campy title isn't arriving until next year, it likely generated less excitement than the other options.

Behind that, "Mario Golf: Super Rush" received 10% of the vote, as did the "Other" category. Mario's next sports title comes out June 25, 2021, and although Mario is popular, his golf skills may not be (at least according to these results). As for the "Other" category, there weren't any games consistently cited, other than the mysterious "Project Triangle Strategy."

So, whether or not you're more hyped for "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD" than for any other upcoming Switch title, now you know where you fall amongst your fellow Nintendo fans.
