Watch The First Teaser For The Lego Ninjago Movie
The LEGO movie universe just keeps expanding to more playsets.
Warner Bros. released the first teaser for the upcoming LEGO Ninjago Movie, ahead of the first full trailer expected to arrive this week. Although the teaser (above) is brief, it hints that the flick will retain the same sense of humor as The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie (which hits theaters this week).
Dan and Kevin Hageman, who wrote the TV series Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and co-wrote The Lego Movie, will pen the story for the film adaptation, which is said to be a departure from the show. The movie stars Jackie Chan, Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Pena, and Zach Woods.
Here's the official synopsis: "In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders. Led by kung fu master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd's dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power."
The film opens September 22. Meanwhile, check out the untold truth of The LEGO Movie.
