Floribama Shore Season 5 - What We Know So Far

Wherever there are beaches on the East Coast, you can be certain MTV film crews won't be far behind to capture all of the madness that entails when eight people start living together with a dangerous amount of alcohol. "Jersey Shore" captured the zeitgeist in the 2000s, making Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi a household name in the process. Now, if you want to watch people fight one second and bond as friends the next, then you can tune into "Floribama Shore," which follows a similar concept to its predecessor in that it features a group of friends as they spend the summer in the same house, partying hard whenever the opportunity arises.

The reality show has been going for four seasons now, with the most recent being the most tumultuous so far in terms of actual filming. Season 4 took the cast away from the panhandle and had to halt filming temporarily due to a crew member catching COVID-19 in the middle of production (via Deadline). Right now, there's been no word from MTV on whether the show's been renewed or canceled, but if it does come back, here's what we anticipate for "Floribama Shore" season 5.

What's the release date for Floribama Shore Season 5?

Season 4 of "Floribama Shore" filmed late in 2020 with episodes airing between February and May of 2021. That means the newest outing for the Floribama crew is still fresh in fans' minds, and there's a good chance MTV is still waiting to see if interest is there before proceeding with another vacation. Assuming there aren't any more delays as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we would assume filming for the fifth season could take place later this year, with new episodes coming out either late in 2021 or early in 2022.

Season 4 offered a change of pace for the cast as they were sent off to Montana, which was a far cry from the warm, sunny beaches they were used to in the panhandle. On top of that, they were also sent to Lake Havasu partway through Season 4, so with the team behind the scenes obviously willing to get away from the Floribama Shore aspect of the reality show, there's a possibility of plenty more seasons to come. But that isn't the only factor that could determine the chances of Season 5 taking place.

Who could be in the cast for Floribama Shore Season 5?

The main cast of "Floribama Shore" remained intact for the first three seasons. However, when the fourth came around, there was a noticeable dropout. Kortni Gilson left the show partway through the season due to mental health problems. She explained to Dr. Drew Pinsky later in an interview that she was a victim of sexual assault earlier in life and needed to step away from the cameras for the sake of her own mental health.

Mattie Lynn Breaux came in to take her place, but she failed to come back for Season 4. She received a lot of backlash over social media for her history of drunk driving, and she eventually posted on Instagram how she also had to leave the show for her mental health, per Reddit.

If MTV moves forward with Season 5, then there's also a good chance Nilsa Prowant also wouldn't return. Late in 2020, she announced she was pregnant, and that revelation definitely played a role in Season 4. It would be hard to party and spend time away from a newborn for an extended period of time, so she may not be back. There's also the chance MTV could introduce some fresh blood — or opt for an entirely new cast, building from the ground up once again. There's just not enough information at this point to determine one way or the other who would pay a visit to the Floribama Shore.

If you or anyone you know has been a victim of sexual assault, help is available. Visit the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network website or contact RAINN's National Helpline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).

Where's the trailer for Floribama Shore Season 5?

Presently, there's no "Floribama Shore" Season 5 trailer. There hasn't even been word yet about when a new season could start filming (if MTV decides to renew the series). Safe to say, it's going to be a while until we see more hijinks with the Southern crew. The Season 4 trailer came out on YouTube a little over a month before new episodes started airing, so it's definitely going to take some time.

Not to end things on a downer note, but Season 4 could very well be the end of the road for the series. A lot of original cast members have since dropped out, and it appears Candace Rice may do the same. On February 17, 2021, she posted to Facebook about a new project she had in the works, writing, "Got the phone call of a lifetime from one of my dear writer/producer friends for a co-starring character written specifically for me with an A list comedian as a lead."

The party has to end at some point, and it's possible the series could bow out after the Season 4 finale. Then again, MTV could always introduce new people who love drinking, fighting, and hooking up as much as this cast. Only time will tell.
