Tangled TV Movie, Series To Premiere In March

Disney is bringing Tangled to the small screen this March, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi are both set to reprise their roles from the 2010 retelling of the classic story of Rapunzel (which, like most stories Disney films are based on, is actually creepy AF) in a Disney Channel Original Movie and series.

DCOM Tangled: Before Ever After will premiere first, airing at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 10. In the film, Rapunzel tries to untangle what happened when her hair (cut off at the end of the original) mysteriously grows back. The movie will set up the animatedTangled: The Series, which will premiere at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24.

Moore and Levi will be joined by Broadway actress Eden Espinosa as the strong-willed lady-in-waiting Cassandra, Modern Family's Julie Bowen as Rapunzel's mother Queen Arianna, and The Shawshank Redemption star Clancy Brown as Rapunzel's father King Frederic.

The series also has an impressive list of guest stars, including Arrested Development patriarch Jeffrey Tambor, Supergirl actor Jeremy Jordan, the original voice of Ursula from The Little Mermaid Pat Carroll, and Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul's Jonathan Banks. Sean Hayes, Jeff Ross, Richard Kind, Paul F. Tompkins, Peter MacNicol, Diedrich Bader, M.C. Gainey, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Charles Halford, Steve Blum, and James Monroe Iglehart will also appear.

Alan Menken, who wrote the songs for the movie, will also pen songs for the show, along with Galavant's Glenn Slater.
