Gotham Promo Reveals Return Of Jerome

While it's still not entirely clear if Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) will eventually become the Joker on Gotham, he certainly looks up to the part in a new promo spot.

As a teaser for the upcoming episode "Ghosts," FOX unveiled a cryptic commercial that features a glimpse at Jerome, who (as ScreenCrush points out) seems to have the same surgical scars the Joker had in the New 52 comics.

Check out the official synopsis: "Falcone places a hit on Gordon after learning that he shot Mario. Gordon and Bullock discover a follower of Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan), who plans to bring him back to life. Meanwhile, Penguin spirals out of control before the biggest television interview of his Mayoral career, and Bruce and Selina deal with Selina's mom's return to Gotham."

Meanwhile, producer Ken Woodruff hinted that Jerome might not be the Joker after all, but the "inspiration" for another character to assume the mantle.

We'll find out more when Gotham continues tonight (Jan. 16) on FOX. While we wait, check out how the show's characters should really look according to the comics.
