Good Witch Season 7 Release Date, Cast And Trailer - What We Know So Far
The wait for Good Witch season 7 is almost over, Goodies — and what a long wait it has been. Season 6 of the popular Hallmark Channel series wrapped up on July 5, 2020, and due to pandemic-related filming restrictions, viewers were left without the traditional Halloween movie special to hold them over in between seasons. Thankfully, the cast and crew were able to begin filming season 7 in the fall, and as a result, Cassie Nightingale's (Catherine Bell) next magical adventure will kick off on the Hallmark Channel soon.
Just in case you're new to the world of Middleton, Good Witch started life as a successful series of Hallmark movies before it became a show. In addition to the six previous seasons, there are also 12 movies exploring Cassie's story — five of which aired between seasons of the show. The show follows Cassie, who is the owner of Grey House, a B&B in the town of Middleton. As a descendant of the town's founders, she possesses magical abilities, which she always uses for the good of others.

When will Good Witch season 7 premiere on the Hallmark Channel?
In February 2021, TVLine confirmed Good Witch season 7 will premiere Sunday, May 16, at 9/8c on the Hallmark Channel. And while the lack of a Halloween special made the wait between seasons feel longer than normal, the premiere date is actually in line with previous premieres. (For reference, season 6 premiered May 6, 2020.)
That's pretty impressive considering all of the new COVID-19 safety protocols the cast and crew had to adhere to throughout filming. According to Bell's Instagram, the cast went back to work in October, and filming on season 7 wrapped in late February. The star also shared that the next season won't include as many kisses between the show's couples as usual, due to the new health and safety regulations, but she assured fans "it's still romantic, don't worry."
At the time, Bell also speculated the new season might premiere as early as April, but it seems Hallmark is wisely staggering the releases of its biggest shows. The new season's May premiere date means it will now launch shortly after the channel's hit series When Calls the Heart wraps up its eighth season.
Who will be in the Good Witch season 7 cast?
Hallmark hasn't unveiled the complete cast list just yet, but fans can expect most of Middleton's residents to return. In addition to Bell, the season 7 cast is expected to include James Denton as Cassie's husband Sam, Sarah Power (Abigail), Kylee Evans (Stephanie), Catherine Disher (Martha), Peter MacNeill (George), Scott Cavalheiro (Adam), Rhys Matthew Bond (Nick), Paula Boudreau (Dotty), Katherine Barrell (Joy), and Marc Bendavid as Mayor Donovan Davenport.
At the moment, no new cast members have been announced, and it also seems unlikely that season 7 will include the return of Bailee Madison as Cassie's daughter, Grace, who left the series at the end of season 5 to pursue other projects. But even if Middleton doesn't gain many new residents this year, fans are in for plenty of drama as the show delves into the mystery of what was in the satchels that Cassie and her cousins received in the season 6 finale.
Is there a Good Witch season 7 trailer yet?
While Bell and Denton did a joint video announcing Good Witch's season 7 renewal in July 2020, Hallmark has yet to release the first official trailer for the new season. But even though we're still waiting to see footage from season 7, the cast and Hallmark have been serving up teases about what fans can expect this year.
According to Hallmark's official press release, the velvet pouches filled with soil that Cassie, Joy, and Abigail found at the end of season 6 will spark a new mystery for the cousins to unravel. The pouches are expected to force the Merriwick cousins to explore past events that have led them to where they are now. Additionally, Bell teased on Instagram that season 7 will be an "intense," "emotional," and "very magical" season. "The Merriwicks, we're on an adventure, kind of a mystery, to try and find out about our past," she added in her Instagram video.
Fans can also expect plenty of romance, especially now that the curse keeping Abigail and Donovan apart has been broken. With the star-crossed lovers finally free to explore their relationship, there's sure to be plenty of sweet moments ahead.
Even without a promo, Good Witch season 7 is shaping up to be another magical adventure for the residents of Middleton.
