How You Can Attend A Virtual Fan Screening Of Zack Snyder's Justice League

The much-anticipated release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, or "the Snyder Cut" as it's known on the Internet, is all about trying to make the best of a less-than-ideal situation. That's just as true with the film's upcoming premiere as it was for the movie itself. And while Snyder's fully-realized version of the 2017 film won't get a theatrical release when it premieres on HBO Max on March 18 — it's doubtful whether it ever would have, COVID-19 or not — there will be an opportunity for a few lucky fans to attend a special virtual screening before the official premiere. Even better, the movie's "Heroes Among Us" sweepstakes will honor those who deserve it most: real-life heroes.

If you haven't been following the Snyder Cut saga, here's a quick recap: Zack Snyder directed most of Justice League before a family tragedy forced him to step aside, in the midst of creative battles with the studio. Following this, the film was taken over by Joss Whedon, who Snyder estimates rewrote and reshot about three-quarters of Snyder's footage (via Vanity Fair), leading to a hodgepodge film that under-performed at the box office. Even worse, Whedon's handling of the production came under scrutiny in late 2020 when star Ray Fisher described Whedon as "Gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable."

The original premiere left fans wishing they could see Snyder's original vision, and in the years that followed, a social media campaign sprang up calling for Warner Bros. to let Snyder finish the film on his terms. Snyder and Warner Bros. reached an agreement, and now, finally, the Snyder Cut is just over two weeks away.

If you want to watch the movie sooner, though, here's how you can enter the Heroes Among Us sweepstakes.

How to (possibly) catch 'Zack Snyder's Justice League' before everyone else

Interested in seeing the Snyder Cut early? Fans can enter "Heroes Among Us" by going to https://zacksnydersjusticeleague.dcuniverseinfinite.com during the sweepstakes period. From this site, you can record a one-minute video explaining how someone you know reminds you of the heroic characteristics of any of the six onscreen members of DC's iconic superhero team, whether that be Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Batman, the Flash, or Superman himself. Memorable entries may be posted to the website, once reviewed. Note that if the person who embodies these heroic characteristics is someone other than the one entering the contest, the contest rules state that this person must give written consent. Also, note that only the actual entrant is eligible for prizes.

Once the videos have been sent in, Warner Bros. will select 214 lucky entrants to attend an exclusive virtual screening on Mar. 13, 2021, well before the general public gets to watch it on HBO Max. Another 12 winners will be selected to attend the film's official virtual premiere on March 15. Those winners will also receive a "dining experience" from Wonderland at Home, a premium boxed-meal delivery service inspired by restaurants and brands from the DC Universe.

The prizes don't finish there, though. Finally, 12 more winners will receive a one-year subscription to DC Universe Infinite, a one-year subscription to HBO Max, and a 55" LG OLED TV they can watch said subscription on. For additional information, the contest's official submission guidelines are available here.

It's been a long wait for Zack Snyder's Justice League, but Warner Bros. and DC are trying to make it as special as possible.
