The Real Reason Olivia Black Was Fired From Pawn Stars

There are many reasons why people have continued to tune into Pawn Stars on History for over a decade at this point. Naturally, history buffs are intrigued with the cavalcade of rare, valuable items that occasionally come into the shop, such as a humidor that belonged to John F. Kennedy, but just like any other reality series, people want to see drama among the cast, and that's never in short supply at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.

The main staff running the store include Rick Harrison, his son Corey, and Corey's friend Chumlee. Richard "Old Man" Harrison was also a prominent presence on the show but sadly died in June 2018. These four got into all kinds of shenanigans with one another, and it was just as entertaining to watch them bust each other's chops as it was to see them negotiate on a rare antique.

Of course, it takes a lot of people to run a pawn shop, and over the years, various minor crew members have popped in and out of the series. Despite not being on Pawn Stars for years, one of the most popular members of the team remains Olivia Black, who joined the shop back in 2012 but was fired from the series after only appearing in 13 episodes. If you wondered what happened to Black after Corey and Chumlee took such a liking to her, here's your answer.

Olivia Black was fired from on-camera appearances when revealing photos of her came to the public's attention

As is the case with any other series, there are rules the cast has to follow. One of these is that Rick Harrison and his team sometimes have to purchase items they wouldn't necessarily buy otherwise so that the show can be more engaging. By the looks of it, there's also a rule about how you're not allowed to have any racy photos of yourself circulating online. Olivia Black learned this the hard way when she was promptly let go from the series after old photos of her time with SuicideGirls emerged online.

The production company behind the show, Leftfield Pictures, fired her shortly after she came onto the team for her past, which promptly led to Black pursuing a lawsuit against the company (via Fox News). To clarify, the lawsuit was specifically against the production company, not the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. She was able to keep working at the shop: She just couldn't appear on camera, but it wasn't long until she voluntarily quit that position as well (via Screen Rant).

In the years since leaving the show, Black has returned to what led to her firing in the first place — adult content. In addition to posing for SuicideGirls again, she's also worked as a go-go dancer and a cam girl. Considering that she has an estimated net worth of $300,000, we'd say she hasn't done too shabby for herself in the aftermath of losing out on the Pawn Stars gig.
