The Marvel Superhero That People Are Comparing Lil Uzi Vert To
Whoever said celebrities are just like the rest of us clearly never paid much attention to Lil Uzi Vert. The rapper revealed on February 3, 2021 that he has a new piercing in the center of his forehead. His latest body art is no ordinary piercing, either — and that's not just because of its location.
Uzi's new piercing is a gigantic pink diamond which apparently cost him upwards of $24 million. According to Uzi himself, he's been in the process of paying it off since 2017. "It's 10 almost 11 carats," Uzi revealed on Twitter.
It's unclear whether or not all this commitment will be worth it based on the public response thus far. Some people have pointed out that the piercing doesn't exactly look centered, although Uzi insisted in an Instagram story that "it can move 'cause of the swelling," but "when it goes down, it's gonna be right there."
Of course, symmetry isn't the only thing people are talking about. Lil Uzi Vert and his Big Uzi Diamond bear a striking similarity to a certain Marvel superhero who's been spending a lot of time in the spotlight lately.
Which Avenger are you picking?
There's a lot of talk about Vision these days, with Paul Bettany playing the synthezoid alongside Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch in the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Disney+ series WandaVision. Vision, much like Lil Uzi Vert, has a rather large rock in the center of his forehead. Of course, in Vision's case the stone in question is the Mind Stone, one of the fabled Infinity Stones which Thanos (Josh Brolin) tries to collect in the events leading up to Avengers: Infinity War so that he can wipe out half of all life in the universe.
In short, there are quite a few differences between Vision's stone and Lil Uzi's. One of them has the power to project energy blasts and let someone walk through walls, and the other is a diamond. Also, Vision's stone is canary yellow and Uzi's is rose pink — so they're totally different!
Still, it's hard not to draw comparisons. And Complex Pop Culture tweeted pictures of Uzi and Vision side-by-side, asking, "which Avenger are you picking?" And while Vision certainly has many powers Lil Uzi Vert simply does not possess, it's probably worth noting that Vision is a fictional character and Lil Uzi is real — and also really wealthy enough to buy a $24 million diamond to wear on his head, making him a solid choice as a teammate just for the financial support alone.
