Angela Bassett Joins The Cast Of Marvel's Black Panther

Angela Bassett will soon join the list of actors who have played characters in both the DC and Marvel movie universes.

The American Horror Story actress who previously played Amanda Waller in Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern flick has signed on to Black Panther, according to the official Marvel website.

Bassett will play Ramonda, the mother of T'Challa, aka Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). She joins an already impressive cast that includes Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba.

Boseman introduced Black Panther to the MCU in Captain America: Civil War. In case you missed it, T'Challa is the new ruler of the kingdom of Wakanda, and he must defend his land from enemies both inside and outside the country.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed), the film is slated to arrive in theaters Feb. 16, 2018. Meanwhile, check out a few actors you didn't know played more than one superhero.
