Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: How To Get The 'Power Of Love' Sword

For both fans of the Scott Pilgrim comics and movies, as well as lovers of classic side-scroller beat-'em-ups, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game's removal from both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live in 2014 was a massive disappointment. But publisher Ubisoft finally gave fans what they wanted, again, when they re-released an updated version of the game on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC, as well as Ubisoft+, on Jan. 14, 2021. Now, both returning and new players are reacquainting themselves with the game that came out in 2010, particularly its bonkers cheat codes

While Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game resembles a '90s button-masher, it also has light RPG elements that can make the later stages more difficult. One way to even the odds is by unlocking Scott's "Power of Love" sword, a mainstay from both the film and the comics. The player can acquire the sword in World 7-2, but cheat codes can make it available from the start. While it is the most powerful weapon in the game, players should still be a bit cautious while using it. Here's how to get the "Power of Love" sword from the very beginning.

How to unlock the "Power of Love" sword

In order to begin every level with the sword, you'll need to enter the correct cheat code. All cheat codes in the game must be entered at the game's title screen, with the exceptions of "Sound Check" and "Noble Sacrifice."

To enter the code on PlayStation, hit Square, Square, Square, X, Circle, Triangle. On Xbox, it's X, X, X, A, B, Y. On Switch, the code is Y, Y, Y, B, A, X. The Washington Post reported that these codes will work with equivalent buttons on all platforms including PC and Stadia, but Ubisoft hasn't confirmed this themselves.

Using the code will unlock the Power of Love sword at the start of every level. As each slash from the sword produces an energy blast that takes up half the screen, it's the most powerful weapon in the game. Like other weapons in the game, it will break from overuse, though it's durable enough to last most levels. The bigger issue is that enemies can knock the sword out of Scott's hands and use it on him. But overall, the sword will give you a major advantage over Ramona's many mean exes.
