Elektra Will Officially Return For The Defenders

Contains potential spoilers for Daredevil and The Defenders
If you were worried that Elektra would be down for the count when The Defenders debuts on Netflix, fear not.

A tweet from the show's official Twitter account revealed that Elodie Yung will reprise her Daredevil role in the upcoming miniseries about Marvel's street-level superheroes.

She'll join Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones), along with plenty more characters from the Netflix corner of the MCU when the series premieres next year.

If you're wondering how Elektra will come back (she died at the end of Daredevil season 2), there's a theory (via Bustle) that the ninja order The Hand (already revealed as a major part of The Defenders) will resurrect her. Of course, she might not be exactly the same, as resurrections are often complicated. (Just ask Jon Snow.)

The news comes after recent casting announcements for The Defenders, including the additions of Rosario Dawson, Scott Glenn, Jessica Henwick, Rachael Taylor, Simone Missick, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie-Anne Moss, Elden Henson, and Eka Darville. On top of all that, Sigourney Weaver has signed on (via The Hollywood Reporter) to play the main, not-yet-unidentified villain.

Daredevil showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will oversee the series, which begins production later this year with Jessica Jones director S.J. Clarkson.

While we wait, check out what a few Marvel characters should really look like according to the comics.
