A Series Of Unfortunate Events: Watch The Gloomy Teaser For The Netflix Show
Netflix unveiled a teaser trailer for the upcoming TV adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, and if you believe Snicket himself (Patrick Warburton), the streaming service might have just ensured its own doom. Of course, he tends to be a little pessimistic.
In the teaser, Warburton appears as Snicket, the fictional author of a series of books that tell the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans–Violet, Klaus (Louis Hynes), and Sunny (Malina Weissman)—whose evil guardian Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) will do anything to get his hands on their inheritance. The teaser takes place entirely on the set of the Netflix series, and Snicket warns that nobody should watch it (as he's wont to do).
The eight-episode series will be produced by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, Pushing Daisies), who also served as executive producer of the 2004 movie starring Jim Carrey. As far as we can tell, however, there's no further connection (beyond the source material) between the film and the series, which will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 13, 2017.
