Fan-Made Indiana Jones Animated Series Trailer Will Make You Wish It Exists

Did you swear off Indiana Jones after all the alien business in 2008's Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? Dust off your fedora and your love for the original trilogy. There's a new video making the rounds online, and it was reverse-engineered to hit all the nostalgia centers of your brain.

Via io9, filmmaker Patrick Shoenmaker created the opening sequence for a nonexistent animated series called The Adventures of Indiana Jones. According to Shoenmaker, it took him five years to complete, and it includes contributions from other animators, too. Set to John Williams' classic score, the brief video takes us through events from the first three films, including sequences inspired by Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Earlier this year, Disney and Lucasfilm announced plans for a fifth Indiana Jones flick (via The Hollywood Reporter), and Disney CEO confirmed to THR that it will be a "requel," or a rebooting sequel. Harrison Ford is attached, but it's not yet clear if he'll continue to be the main character in the franchise or if the movie will pave the way for a younger actor to pick up the mantle. Of course, that's what was alluded to in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but it's anyone's guess as to how much of that storyline will continue.

Here's what we know so far about Indiana Jones 5, and yes, George Lucas will be involved.
