Rings: Watch The Trailer For The Horror Sequel
More than a decade after 2005's The Ring Two, we're finally set to find out what happened to Samara, the creepy girl trapped in a VHS tape, in Rings. Maybe the real horror is that anyone would still have a VCR in 2016. Watch the trailer above.
Directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall), Rings stars Matilda Lutz as a young woman whose boyfriend becomes obsessed with the subculture that revolves around the killer videotape at the center of The Ring franchise. You know the one–it kills whoever watches it seven days later. The woman sacrifices herself to save him, but she makes a terrifying discovery: there's a "movie within the movie" that no one has ever seen before.
Set for release Oct. 28, Rings also stars Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan, and Vincent D'Onofrio.
Get used to seeing a lot of Samara: the character will also be in a crossover horror film with the ghost from The Grudge in Sadako vs. Kayako, which premieres at the Toronto Film Festival next month.
