How Do Killstreaks Work In Call Of Duty: Warzone?

Ah, Killstreaks. These little nuggets of chaos and carnage that have returned for Call of Duty: Warzone have been a point of contention with many critics of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Basically, the game rewards you for killing multiple enemies in a row in multiplayer by granting you further bonuses. These include the ability to call in an airstrike or an automated turret or even a tactical nuke. Some have felt that these bonuses cheapen the experience of trying to be the single best soldier in the game.

The silliness of some of these Killstreak rewards are magnified by the presence of the Tamagunchi, a vicious virtual pet that gets excited by your many kills.

However, depending on whether you love or hate Modern Warfare's Killstreaks, you may be disappointed or elated to learn how Killstreaks have changed in the new battle royale spinoff, Call of Duty: Warzone. They're actually a little harder to come by in Warzone than they have been in previous iterations of the franchise.

In Call of Duty: Warzone, Killstreaks can actually be purchased at the various Buy Stations scattered throughout the map. According to a list of the available Killstreaks from Metabomb, many of the Killstreaks in the game have carried over from Modern Warfare. These include the Shield Turret that protects you while firing off multiple rounds and the Cluster Strike that can take out wide swaths of enemies. In other words, there are plenty of destructive options at your disposal.

Despite how pricey some of these items are, they can all be earned by saving up Warzone's in-game Cash taken from fallen enemies and loot boxes in the map. This is actually pretty great news for newer players. Despite the remaining challenge, it could make these bonkers attacks and upgrades more accessible for folks who aren't used to dusting a zillion enemies in a row. So get out there, earn some Cash, and snag yourself the Killstreak of your combat dreams.
