How Long Does It Take To Beat Wattam?

Keita Takahashi, known for creating cult classic Katamari Damacy, is back at it again with another strange title. Wattam released on Dec. 17, and presents a cutesy aesthetic that's as silly as it is wholesome. Whether you like controlling sentient poop emojis or giant trees, the game does its best to put a smile on your face as you bring a weird community of creatures together.

However, not everyone has the luxury of time when it comes to playing video games. If you're worried about how long it might take you to beat Wattam, we have some estimates so you can see how the game might fit into your week.

Looking at reviews, Polygon's Chelsea Stark completed Wattam in what she describes as "a few hours," while Caty McCarthy at USGamer echoed a similar sentiment. To put harder numbers to it, though, Annette Polis at PlayStation LifeStyle rolled the credits after five or six hours, but she remarked that there was still more to do and collect after the story finished.

Destructoid's Jordan Devore did something similar, spending five hours on the main campaign and then "a few extra hours messing around." On the shorter end of things, however, Ricky Frech from Dualshockers measured his time with Wattam by saying, "The game crashed on me three times, which came out to about once an hour." It's a pretty worrisome way to measure the length of a game, but it gets the point across.

From the looks of it, Wattam is a fairly peaceful, laid-back game for you to enjoy at your own leisure; one that doesn't want to take up all of your time. Frankly, that's welcome in the modern age, considering how long some other games are. So if you're short on time but want to build a happy little community of cute, sentient objects, Wattam should fit into your schedule just fine.
