Watch The First Trailer For Mechanic: Resurrection

Jason Statham's 2011 action thriller The Mechanic has a sequel on the way—and that sequel, Mechanic: Resurrection, now has a trailer for your perusal.

As in the original (a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson movie), Statham plays Arthur Bishop, a hitman with a knack for making his kills look like accidents. In classic action movie fashion, Bishop is retired but gets pulled back into the hitman's world when the love of his life, Gina (played by Jessica Alba), is kidnapped. To keep her alive he must pull off three assassinations and, of course, make them all look like accidents.

The Mechanic might not have been the most memorable film, but the trailer for Mechanic: Resurrection promises a fair quotient of good old-fashioned mindless action movie fun. Tommy Lee Jones co-stars, and for the first time in recent memory, looks like he's having fun on camera. Alba, meanwhile, makes one of her rare appearances in recent years. She's been busy lately getting mega-rich as the co-founder of a billion-dollar company specializing in "non-toxic household products." Acting is more of a hobby for her at this point.

Mechanic: Resurrection is scheduled to arrive in theaters August 26.
