New Ghostbusters Trailer Features Creepiest Ghoul Yet

Ghostbusters has dropped a new international trailer offering us a few more seconds of advance footage from director Paul Feig's franchise reboot—and while it's mostly made up of content we've seen in the previous trailers, there are a few new scenes. We get yet another look at Rowan, the big bad ghost that will likely be this movie's version of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man; some new handheld film footage shows what happens to Kristen Wiig's Erin Gilbert after she gets slime barfed on her by a ghoul; and finally, we encounter the creepiest thing in Ghostbusters history—a possessed mannequin chasing Leslie Jones' character, Patty Tolan. The cry of "Ghostbusters!" in Japanese at the end of the trailer is another awesome addition.

The new Ecto-1 and Fall Out Boy's new theme

Sony has also released a new featurette focusing on the revamped Ecto-1. Honoring the tradition set by the original film, in which the team used a 1959 Cadillac ambulance that was given an intense makeover (Ghostbusters creator and actor Dan Aykroyd once referred to it as a giant clown car), this new vehicle—somewhat ironically, a 1984 Cadillac Hearse—maintains the tone of the original while adding a slight update. In the reboot's story, Patty gets the group a vehicle from her uncle's business. Kate McKinnon's Jillian Holtzmann, the Ghostbusters' technical guru, takes the car and gives it a new look in tune with the group's motif—we're talking giant sirens, tons of unsafe technical gadgetry on the roof, a white and red paint job, and the logo on the doors. We think the hood ornament is a particularly nice touch.

Throughout the video, you can hear what sounds like Fall Out Boy's remake of the original Ray Parker Jr. theme song. The featured bits are mostly instrumental, but the band's vocals surface around the 1:15 mark. Missy Elliot has also reportedly recorded her own rendition of the 1984 hit for the soundtrack.

Ghostbusters is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 15, 2016.
