Keanu Reeves Rides On Horseback For John Wick 3: Parabellum Stunt
When you accidentally kill your pet goldfish, you level up and get a dog. But when you're John Wick and a Russian mobster kills said dog, a gift from your wife who died from a terminal illness, you say "screw it!" and get a horse.
At least, that's what appears to have happened based on new photos from John Wick 3: Parabellum.
The snaps, uploaded to Twitter, feature star Keanu Reeves riding a horse through the streets of New York. Reeves sports the assassin's signature black suit and tie and wears a deeply concerned look on his face. (Hey, if we were gallivanting on horseback, moving at full speed while trying not to knock over the residents of Brooklyn and escape villains chasing us, we'd be concerned too.)
Another shot from the same filming sequence shows Reeves mid-gallop with a gun in his hand, pointing the weapon directly at a man on a motorcycle.
Upon first glance, not a lot can be gleaned from these images other than the obvious: John Wick 3: Parabellum will, at some point, see its titular hired gun team up with an equestrian companion and together, the horse-man duo will pluck off John's pursuers one by one. Sounds like pretty standard stuff in the John Wick world.
Earlier this month, Reeves was spotted limping after shooting a scene in the rain. Set videos captured the actor hunching over in pain, grabbing at his knee — suggesting that he suffered a significant injury while filming John Wick 3: Parabellum. It's unclear whether that rain-soaked scene was shot before this horse-centric one (although we suspect it was, given the order in which the set photos were released), but in any case, we hope nothing went awry for Reeves this time around. We can't have him nearly dying on set, now can we?
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick 3: Parabellum is slated to launch on May 17, 2019.
