Supergirl's Jeremy Jordan Switches To Recurring For Season 4
Supergirl is losing an ally. According to TVLine, Jeremy Jordan, who has played Kara's (Melissa Benoist) friend and co-worker Winn since season one, will only play a recurring role on the show's upcoming fourth season, losing his series regular status.
"We love Jeremy, and even though he's [not going to be around full-time], we're not saying goodbye to Winn at all," executive producer Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said. "We're already breaking big stories for him right now for the fall, and I think the fans will be excited to see what he has coming up."
Although Rovner and Queller couldn't tease much about Winn's future, viewers will likely get a much bigger hint of what's up with the character when the show airs its season three finale on Monday, June 18th on The CW. The pair promised that the next steps will help the character move towards "fulfilling his full potential."
The ever fluctuating cast of the Arrow-verse took a hit recently when Keiynan Lonsdale, who plays Kid Flash, announced that he wouldn't be returning next season. Paul Blackthorne also recently departed Supergirl's sister show Arrow after six seasons. However, the universe did recruit Matt Ryan's Constantine and Jes Macallan's Ava Sharpe as series regulars for the upcoming season of their team-up series Legends of Tomorrow, and Hartley Sawyer's Ralph Dibney and Danielle Nicolet's D.A. Cecile Horton as regulars for The Flash.
Supergirl's fourth season will see a growing role for Jesse Rath's Brainiac-5, with Rath getting promoted to series regular. Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Chris Wood, Katie McGarth, and Odette Annabelle also star in the show, which currently airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
