Shameless Fans Make Their Dislike For Tami Blatantly Clear

Because "Shameless" is a show that centers around dysfunctional, maladjusted characters who make poor decisions and frequently hurt those around them, it's safe to say that there are plenty of characters that fans of the series absolutely despise. A few of the more overtly despicable characters include Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy), whose neglect, selfishness, and addiction have left his family in shambles, and his daughter Debbie Gallagher (Emma Kenney), who is a horrible mother to her own daughter Franny (Paris Newton), and once called Franny a "mistake" right to her face.

Another character whom "Shameless" fans absolutely despise is Lip Gallagher's (Jeremy Allen White) girlfriend Tami Tamietti (Kate Miner), with plenty of fans on Reddit being extremely vocal in their hatred toward her — particularly because of her behavior toward Lip. "She does some pretty mean s*** to Lip despite Lip just desperately wanting to be a good father and support system," wrote u/VampiricAcid. "SHE'S THE WORST! Totally classless, obnoxious, unkind, and just miserable all around," echoed u/shannoncol.

Fans across Reddit were not shy about how much they despised Tami and the way she treated Lip, and it's clear that many fans don't believe her character has any redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Fans think Tami is boring and extremely cruel

Although many "Shameless" fans appear to despise Tami Tamietti because of her aggressive personality and consistent cruelty toward Lip, others claimed that she was a bland character who didn't add anything to the series.

"She was so freaking boring," wrote u/spongebob5745. "I had ZERO investment with her character whatsoever despite the writers really trying their hardest to make us like her which just didn't work." "Tami and Lip have like zero chemistry," added u/Cheezy_Beard. "I can hardly believe that they're even friends, let alone in love with each other." Other users, like u/daisyhwayze, seemed baffled by the decision to make Tami such an important character in the first place, saying that her entire family was never given any significance to the story, even as she herself become a main character near the end of the series.

"I thought it was weird how she was such a tiny character before and then all of a sudden she's back and then pregnant with Lip's kid," echoed u/chubonabox, emphasizing how little Tami actually has to do with the story before she miraculously falls in love with Lip. These comments make it clear that most fans either have an abundance of hatred for Tami Tamietti, or simply couldn't click with her character.
