Michelle Rodriguez Will Star In VR Action Series From Robert Rodriguez

Robert Rodriguez has been working on a mysterious virtual reality project for a while now, and he turned to one of his favorite muses to bring it to life.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the Sin City filmmaker recently wrapped filming on The Limit, a first-person POV action series starring Michelle Rodriguez. It'll premiere on STX's upcoming pay-per-experience VR channel called Surreal, which will launch as an app on VR headsets later this year.

The Limit will follow Rodriguez as she plays "a genetically enhanced weapon of mass destruction hellbent on destroying the covert agency that created her."

Robert Rodriguez co-wrote the project with his son, Racer Max, and also directed and produced. "I'm a huge fan of VR, and I started Double R Productions with Racer Max to create innovative content for the medium," he said. "It was a thrill to be working with the awesome Michelle Rodriguez again in this exciting entertainment space."

The director and actress previously worked together on 2010's Machete, 2013's Machete Kills, and the upcoming Alita: Battle Angel

There's no release date just yet, but we'll let you know when we hear more.
