The New Game Night Trailer Isn't Playing Around

If you know anyone who takes Apples to Apples just a little too seriously, this movie might hit close to home.

Warner Bros. released a new trailer for Game Night, the upcoming comedy from the writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and it offers a look at what can happen when party games go to the next level.

Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams star as Max and Annie, a fiercely competitive couple who live for their weekly game night. But things take a sinister turn when Max's brother Brooks (Kyle Chandler) puts together a murder mystery party that's frighteningly real. When Brooks is kidnapped, it's not clear if it's for real or just part of the game.

Here's the official synopsis: "Over the course of one chaotic night, the friends find themselves increasingly in over their heads as each twist leads to another unexpected turn. With no rules, no points, and no idea who all the players are, this could turn out to be the most fun they've ever had ... or game over."

Although it all has a vibe similar to 2010's Date Night, the cast definitely elevates this flick. It co-stars Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights), Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Lamorne Morris (New Girl), Billy Magnussen (Ingrid Goes West), Sharon Horgan (Pulling), Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Danny Huston (Wonder Woman).

Game Night hits theaters on Feb. 23.
