Transformers: The Last Knight Tops This Year's Razzies Nominations
Transformers: The Last Knight could dominate an awards show this season, but you should probably hold off on congratulating Optimus Prime.
The nominees for the 38th Golden Raspberry Awards have been revealed, "honoring" the very worst that Hollywood has to offer. This year's Razzies, which are chosen by anyone willing to pay $40 for a membership to the "academy," are particularly hard on the fifth installment in the Transformers franchise. That Michael Bay spectacle leads the pack with nine nominations in categories like Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Director.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of nods for the likes of The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Baywatch, Fifty Shades Darker, and The Emoji Movie.
One thing that's interesting is the split reaction to Darren Aronofsky's mother!, which is up for several awards. While, yes, lots of people hated the movie, it was also a favorite of a dedicated circle of fans who praise its ambition and total insanity.
The Razzies will be awarded on March 3, the day before the Oscars are handed out. Check out the full list below.
