Seven Seconds Teaser Shows Blood In The Snow And Justice On The Line

Seven seconds is a lot of time when it comes to the life of a speeding bullet. The actual shot is done in instants—the damage though, that lingers.

Created by Veena Sud of Cold Case and The Killing, Seven Seconds stars Clare-Hope Ashitey as KJ Harper, set at a time when tensions run high in Jersey City after a black teenager is shot and gravely wounded by a cop.

The all-too-familiar story is being teased with this haunting first footage, showing Ashitey's KJ standing over the boy's bloodstain in the white snow, stretching out over the snowbank as the Statue of Liberty looms overhead, back turned to the bloodshed.

The series is set to tell the human story of a shooting, in all its ugly reality. Following the shooting, the city boils up toward a low-key kind of civil war, with black citizens being set against white cops as people fight for justice both in the street and on the court.

In addition to Ashitey in the lead role, Seven Seconds also stars Nadia Alexander, Raúl Castillo, Russell Hornsby, Regina King, Beau Knapp, David Lyons, Zackary Momoh, Michael Mosley, Patrick Murney, and Michelle Veintimilla.

Prior to writing, producing, and showrunning Seven Seconds, Sud previously wrote and directed the 2016 crime thriller film The Salton Sea

The ten episode first season of Seven Seconds is set for release by Netflix on February 23. Check out the poster and the tagline for the new series below.
