Dave Chappelle To Release A Surprise Second Stand-Up Special On New Year's Eve
Now it's truly a celebration.
Yes, Dave Chappelle already announced one stand-up special, Equanimity, coming to Netflix on New Year's Eve. But the streaming service revealed that Chappelle quietly filmed a second special, The Bird Revelation, also coming the same day.
We don't know much about the new special, but we do know it was filmed at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles on Nov. 20 and it'll be available to stream on Dec. 31.
The specials will be his third and fourth set at Netflix for this year as part of a wide-ranging deal. The earlier taped Age of Spin: Dave Chappelle Live at the Hollywood Palladium and Deep in the Heart of Texas: Dave Chappelle Live at Austin City Limits both debuted earlier this year.
Chappelle became one of the biggest names in comedy thanks to the massive success of the quotable Comedy Central series Chappelle's Show, which aired from 2003 to 2006. After walking away from the series, Chappelle took an extended break from stand-up but returned to the scene around 2013. Since then, he's sold out shows in a matter of minutes and hosted Saturday Night Live.
