Jim Sturgess Tries To Prevent The Apocalypse In Hard Sun Trailer

Jim Sturgess and Agyness Deyn are the only two people who can stop the apocalypse in the trailer for the upcoming Hulu and BBC One drama Hard Sun. The show, which comes from Luther creator Neil Cross, is set in a pre-apocalyptic contemporary London, following police officers Charlie Hicks (Sturgess) and Elaine Renko (Deyn).

Hicks' and Renko's partnership is already strained when the show starts. Hicks is a family man and a committed officer, but he's also corrupt; Renko, meanwhile, is difficult to work with and damaged emotionally, but she is described as impossible to corrupt. Although the two are total opposites, they have to team up after they find a flash drive which contains information about an extinction-level event that could wipe out humanity in five years.

As the trailer teases, their journey to stop the end of the world will be very intense, with the pair being targeted by people from all sides willing to do whatever it takes to get the flash drive back. They'll also have to deal with how to live their lives knowing that the end is coming, something which is sure to bring up quite a lot of drama. With the Emmy-nominated Cross at the helm, this definitely seems like a show to watch out for.

Hard Sun will debut on BBC One in the United Kingdom on Jan. 6, 2018, before hitting Hulu in the United States on March 7.
