The Umbrella Academy Cast Revealed

The live-action Netflix adaptation of The Umbrella Academy has rounded out its main cast.

Variety reports that five actors have signed on alongside previously announced star Ellen Page, who will play Vanya. The new additions include Tom Hopper (Dickon Tarly on Game of Thrones), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Hamilton), David Castañeda (El Chicano), Robert Sheehan (Misfits), and Aidan Gallagher (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn).

Based on the graphic novel by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, the series centers on the estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes known as the Umbrella Academy. Together, they work together to solve the mystery of their father's death, but their very different personalities and abilities make things difficult.

Luther (Hopper) was raised to be the leader of the Umbrella Academy, but the responsibility has always been stressful. He has increased physical strength and always tries to do the right thing.

Allison (Raver-Lampman) used to be a movie star and has the power of suggestion, which means anything she says out loud actually happens. But her career is on a downward slope and her marriage is in ruins.

Diego (Castañeda) is an intense vigilante who doesn't take well to authority. He isn't as strong or smart as his siblings, but he believes he should've been the leader of the family instead of Luther.

Number Five (Gallagher) looks like a 13 year-old boy, but he's actually a 58 year-old man trapped inside a child's body. He's the smartest of the bunch, but he's also on the cusp of losing touch with reality.

Klaus (Sheehan) is a drug addict who wants to turn his life around. He's incredibly friendly, but it's dangerous to trust him.

Vanya (Page) is the black sheep of the family. She's adopted and doesn't have any supernatural abilities, which makes her timid and insecure.

Steve Blackman (Fargo, Altered Carbon) will serve as showrunner and executive producer The Umbrella Academy. The pilot script was adapted from the comic book series by Jeremy Slater (The Exorcist) and the 10-episode drama will premiere in 2018.
