Rick And Morty Video Tells The Emotional Story Of Mr. Poopybutthole

What might be the most heartwarming moment in Rick and Morty history comes from an unexpected place.

Adult Swim released a short video that tells the entire backstory of the bizarre Mr. Poopybutthole, who's been largely absent from the show ever since Beth shot and nearly killed him in the season 2 episode "Total Rickall." The season 3 finale took brought us up to speed with him and his new family, but the new video, "The Poop in My Pants," fills in all the gaps.

In the clip, Mr. Poopybutthole flips through a scrapbook of his life, and it's brimming with easter eggs. We see him get his G.E.D., meet his wife, get married, and become a father, and endure some heartache along the way. But fans will notice that he and his wife had their toxic selves removed (like Rick and Morty did), and his proposal was the same as the one he made to Morty in "Morty's Mindblowers." He's also apparently Jewish.

The final shot is a legitimate tearjerker, and it reveals that Mr. Poopybutthole might actually be the most functional inhabitant of the Rick and Morty universe. Now the wait is on for season 4.
