Justice League Tops Wonder Woman At Thursday Previews

Despite all those negative reviews and a dismal score on Rotten Tomatoes, fans still turned out in impressive numbers for Thursday screenings of Justice League.

Deadline reports the DC ensemble flick made $13 million the night before it goes wide, which is more than the $11 million that Wonder Woman brought in during Thursday screenings back in June. That puts Zack Snyder's Justice League on pace for between $110 million and $115 million during its opening weekend.

If those estimates hold up, it would give Justice League a bigger opening than Wonder Woman, which made $100 million during its first three days. It's worth noting because Wonder Woman eventually became the biggest hit of the summer, but it did benefit from glowing reviews and positive word-of-mouth. Those are two things that Justice League probably won't have.

The Thursday box office for the movie also came in behind Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok, which grossed $14.5 million. Ragnarok made $122 million during its opening weekend.

However, fans have consistently ignored the negative buzz around DCEU films. Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice has a 27 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and still made $873 million worldwide. Suicide Squad has an even lower Rotten Tomatoes score with 26 percent, and it brought in $745 million globally. Justice League currently sits at 36 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Judge for yourself as the movie hits theaters everywhere today (Nov. 17).
