New Stranger Things trailer revealed at Comic-Con

"We gonna do this? Let's engage." The kids and creepy monsters of Stranger Things are back—bigger and better than ever before.

At Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday, Netflix unveiled a spooky, scintillating new trailer for the beloved sci-fi drama series Stranger Things.

The clip opens in a bustling arcade. Gaten Matarazzo's Dustin Henderson is laser-focused on a game of Dragon's Lair, and his whole gang of friends are cheering him. There's Caleb McLaughlin's Lucas Sinclair, Finn Wolfhard's Mike Wheeler, and Noah Schnapp's recently returned-from-the-Upside-Down Will Byers all pushing Dustin toward the win. It's heart-warming. So much so that you feel a slight tingle at the corner of your mouth, and you begin to smile.

That happiness turns to terror all too quickly when the trailer cuts to black, and a voice from off screen whispers, "Will…"

As Will gazes out of the arcade's glass door onto the snow-sprinkled parking lot, it's revealed that he isn't in an arcade at all. It looks as though he's still stuck in the Upside Down, the sky flashing red and a shrouded monster looming overhead.

However, relief comes quickly when the clip turns to Finn Wolfhard's Mike Wheeler, who asks if Will is okay. Thankfully, but still terrifyingly, the hellish sequence was all inside Will's mind.

Throughout the clip, Will gets his brain scanned, opens up about his horrifying experience in the Upside Down, and has trouble getting to sleep. Featuring mysterious blood-stained chairs, political signs that indicate the real world is wrapped up in the 1984 U.S. election, and cryptic signs from the Demogorgon, the new Stranger Things trailer is set to an eerie voiceover of a stanza of lyrics from Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

The whole thing ends in a burst: Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) shoves her hand through a wall, hinting that she's returning to the outside world.

Stranger Things will return to Netflix on October 27. In the meantime, read up on what we think will happen in the second season.
