Daisy Ridley Voices Rey In First Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny Short

Rey has her hands full in the first installment of Disney's animated Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.

In the YouTube short, we see more of what happened after Rey (voiced by Daisy Ridley) first meets BB-8 and embark across the sand dunes of Jakku and come across one of the creatures we glimpsed in The Force Awakens. It's brief, but it does reveal the youthful tone of the series, which is focused on some of the strongest women in the Star Wars galaxy.

There are eight shorts in total, and Disney will release a new one each day, ahead of a collection that will air on the Disney Channel on July 9. Other installments feature Rogue One star Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, Star Wars Rebels stars Tiya Sircar and Vanessa Marshall as Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla, and Shelby Young as Princess Leia. Lupita Nyong'o narrates the series as Maz Kanata from The Force Awakens.

Of course, we'll finally see what happened to Rey after the events of that movie in The Last Jedi, slated to hit theaters Dec. 15. Until then, find out why the movie will blow you away.
