Neve Campbell joins Dwayne Johnson's Skyscraper
Neve Campbell is teaming up with Dwayne Johnson for his next thriller. Deadline reports that the former Scream actress has signed to star opposite Johnson in Skyscraper, an upcoming 3D action movie directed by Dodgeball and Central Intelligence's Rawson Marshall Thurber.
In the film, Johnson will play a disabled war veteran and former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader who is tasked with assessing security for skyscrapers. While on assignment in China, he finds that the tallest, safest building in the world has been set ablaze– and people think he did it. To make matters even worse, his family is trapped inside the building above the fire line. A wanted man, Johnson's character must go on the run while he hunts down those responsible and clears his name.
There is no word on who Campbell will play. The actress most recently appeared on Netflix's House of Cards, although she is also known for her roles in Party of Five, Wild Things, The Craft, and, lately, guest starring parts on shows like Grey's Anatomy, Mad Men, Welcome to Sweden, and Manhattan.
Skyscraper is one of many, many upcoming projects for Johnson, who is currently hard at work filming his video game adaptation Rampage. Skyscraper filming will follow after he finishes work on Rampage, with a Jungle Cruise movie, based on the Disneyland ride, following shortly after. Johnson's other projects lined up for the upcoming years include San Andreas 2, Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon, a Black Adam movie, a Doc Savage movie, and a cameo and producing role in the wrestling drama Fighting with my Family.
Skyscraper is set for a July 13, 2018 release date. While we wait, see all of the movies that will blow you away that year.
