Watch three new clips from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

We're just a few short weeks away from the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the more we see of it, the more impatient we get.

There's a new batch of extended clips from the flick, and each shines a spotlight on the humor, action, and heart that director James Gunn seems to effortlessly wield.

The first clip (above) comes from the cast's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and it features a longer look at a sequence that's been prominently featured in the teasers and trailers. When Drax (Dave Bautista) has trouble doing any damage to a huge monster, he decides to take it out from the inside. As Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Gamora (Zoe Saldana) point out, Plan B will probably be just as difficult, and definitely a whole lot crazier.

The second clip (below) comes courtesy of ComicBookMovie, and it finds the Guardians in the middle of an epic space battle that Rocket (Bradley Cooper) may or may not have instigated.

And the third clip (also below) is an extended look at the adorable scene from the first teaser featuring Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) as Rocket tries to teach him about the one button he absolutely shouldn't push on a bomb detonator. There's a few extra seconds in the new look, and we'll take as many as we can get.

Meanwhile, early screenings of the film in New York in Los Angeles were met with nearly universal praise from critics. We also know that Gunn will be back for the third installment, and that Pratt already knows what he wants to see happen to Star-Lord in that sequel.

But before all that, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will land in theaters on May 5. Take a look at the track list for the official soundtrack, which will be released April 21.
